Yoi 14

In the musubi-dachi position.

Announce the“Wankan”kata.

Yoi: In the hachiji-dachi position. The fists are in front of the hips.

1. Chudan kakiwake-uke:

(1A) Turn your head to the left, move your right foot in front of the left foot in the same direction, while raising your fists by joining them in front of the chest, fists facing upwards, right fist towards the bust.
(1B)Without moving your arms, move your left foot at a 45-degree angle to the left to find yourself in the neko-ashi-dachi position.
(1C) Complete the movement of the arms to perform a medium level separator block(kakiwake-uke).

2. Chudan kakiwake-uke:

(2A) Without changing the position of the arms, turn your head to the right, advance your left foot in front of the right foot in the same direction.
(2B)Advance your right foot at a 45-degree angle to the right to find yourself in the neko-ashi-dachi position. Join the fists in front of the chest, fist backs facing upwards, left fist towards the bust.
(2C) Complete the movement of the arms to perform a medium level separator block(kakiwake-uke).

3. Muso-uke – Hasami-uke/Hiza-kamae: Turn your head to the left to look in front of you. Join the arms in front of the chest to perform a scissor lock(hasami-uke),while raising the knee right in front of you, toes down in posture hiza-kamae.

4. Hidari chudan gyaku tate shuto-uke:

(4A) Without changing the position of the arms, advance the right foot in front of the left foot, about 1 foot length.
(4B)Without changing the position of the arms, advance the left foot in front of the right foot, about 1 foot length.
(4C)Advance your right foot in front of the left foot, open your left hand and arm there towards the right flank of the body.
(4D) Settle in the zenkutsu-dachi position while running an inverted vertical blockage of the edge of the middle level left hand(gyaku tate shuto-uke).

5. Migi chudan jun-zuki/Hidari chudan gyaku-zuki: On the spot, still in zenkutsu-dachiposition, carry a middle level right frontal punch(jun-zuki),followed by an inverted punch left middle level(gyaku-zuki).

6. Koko hiza-kuzushi:
(6A) Turn your head to the left, move the left foot by pivoting the pelvis to the left to find yourself in the neko-ashi-dachi position. Simultaneously, extend your left arm to the left, opening your hand.
(6B)Bring the left hand back to the abdomen to block “spoon” at the same time as you lower the right hand to perform an imbalance by pushing the opposing knee(koko hiza-kuzushi)- “tiger mouth imbalance”.

7. Hidari chudan gyaku tate shuto-uke:

(7A) Advance your right foot while extending your right arm in front of you, keeping your left hand in front of the right flank.
(7B) Settle in the zenkutsu-dachi position while running an inverted vertical blockage of the edge of the middle level left hand(gyaku tate shuto-uke).

8. Migi chudan jun-zuki/Hidari chudan gyaku-zuki: On the spot, still in the zenkutsu-dachi position, carry a middle level right frontal punch(jun-zuki),followed by an inverted punch left middle level(gyaku-zuki).

9. Koko hiza-kuzushi:
(9A) Turn your head to the left, shift your left foot behind your back by swivelling the 180-degree pelvis to the left to find yourself in the neko-ashi-dachi position. At the same time, extend your left hand open in the same direction along a circular path.
(9B)Bring the left hand back to the abdomen to make a “spoon” blockage, at the same time as you perform an imbalance by pushing the right hand on the opponent’s knee(koko hiza-kuzushi).

10. Hidari chudan gyaku tate shuto-uke :

(10A) Advance your right foot while extending your right arm in front of you, keeping your left hand in front of the right flank.
(10B) Settle in the zenkutsu-dachi position while running an inverted vertical blockage of the edge of the middle level left hand(gyaku tate shuto-uke).

11. Migi chudan jun-zuki/Hidari chudan gyaku-zuki: On the spot, still in the zenkutsu-dachi position, carry a middle level right frontal punch(jun-zuki),followed by an inverted middle-level left punch(gyaku-zuki).

12. Migi tettsui-uchi: Turn your head to the right, step back with your right foot to align it with your left foot before shifting it to the right to find yourself in the kiba-dachi position. Simultaneously, arm the right fist under the left armpit and send the right to carry a right hammer punch(tettsui-uchi).

13. Hidari mae-geri/Hidari jun-zuki: Pivot the pelvis to the right to send a left whipped frontal kick in the direction of the hammer punch(mae-geri). Rest your left foot in the zenkutsu-dachi position at the same time as you are carrying a left frontal punch(jun-zuki).

14. Migi mae-geri/Migi jun-zuki: Chain a frontal kick whipped right (mae-geri). Rest with your right foot in front of you in the zenkutsu-dachi position at the same time as you are carrying a right frontal punch(jun-zuki).

15. Hidari mae-geri/Hidari jun-zuki: Chain a frontal kick whipped left(mae-geri). Rest your left foot in the zenkutsu-dachi position at the same time as you are carrying a left frontal punch(jun-zuki).

16. Yama-zuki: Turn your head to the right to look in the opposite direction, shift the right foot to the other side in your back in the fudo-dachiposition, and bring both fists to the left hip. Carry a large double U punch in front of you(yama-zuki). The left fist is aimed at the opponent’s face and the right fist is aimed at the abdomen. At the arrival of the technique, both fists must be on a vertical axis.

Yame: Turn back the left foot before shifting it to the left to align it with the right foot in the heisoku-dachiposition. Bring your fists back to hip height.
