Meikyo

In the musubi-dachi position.

Announce the“Meikyo”kata.

Yoi: In the hachiji-dachiposition. The fists are in front of the hips.

1. Ryo goshi-kamae:

(1A) Shift your right foot to the right by extending your arms on the flanks and opening your hands.
(1B) Send hands along 2 upward circular trajectories while lowering the pelvis.
(1C)Settle in the kiba-dachi position by lowering your arms outstretched in front of your bust, crossing your wrists (right above left).
(1D) Bring the elbows backwards against the flanks while closing your fists, which you bring above the hips, in a ryo goshi-kamae posture.

2. Joshin-kamae:

(2A) Still in the kiba-dachiposition, open your

hands and bring them closer by raising them in front of your abdomen. (2B) Raise your hands by joining the earbuds, palms of the hands next to the face.
(2C)Spread the elbows and lower them slightly by swivelling your hands inwards. You are in a joshin-kamae posture – “posture that cleanses the mind”.

3. Hidari gedan-barai: Slightly bring the left foot back to the right foot, before advancing it 45 degrees to the left to find yourself in the zenkutsu-dachiposition, while you run a left-footed block(gedan-barai).

4. Migi chudan oï-zuki: Advance your right foot in the zenkutsu-dachiposition, while carrying an elongated frontal punch right middle level(oï-zuki).

5. Migi gedan-barai: Leaning on the left foot, slide the right foot to the right, rotate the body 90 degrees in the same direction to find yourself in the zenkutsu-dachi position, while you run a right-footed block(gedan-barai).

6. Hidari chudan oï-zuki: Advance the left foot in the zenkutsu-dachi position, while carrying an elongated frontal punch left medium level(oï-zuki).

7. Morote jo-uke:

(7A) Slide your right foot towards the left foot, rotate your head 45 degrees to the left and arm your hands backwards, on the right side, opening them with palms towards the ground.
(7B)Slide the right foot forward in front of the left foot, lowering the right hand into a spoon in front of you and raising the left elbow.
(7C)Settle in the kokutsu-dachiposition, raise your right hand at the waist, and the left hand at the forehead, to block a jo attack (stick)(morote jo-uke).

8. Jo-zukami: Pushing on the left foot, advance the pelvis and move the center of gravity towards the right leg by sending the two fists down in front of you to make a stick grab(jo-zukami). The right fist is facing forward, backwards upwards, and the inside of the left fist rests against the abdomen, fist back to the ground.

9. Push on the right foot and pull the pelvis backwards, swivelling to the left to turn around without changing the position of the feet. The arms do not move, only the fists rotate internally on themselves.

10. Ryo goshi-kamae:

(10A) Advance and then shift your right foot to the right, extending your arms on the flanks and opening your hands.
(10B) Send hands along 2 upward circular trajectories while lowering the pelvis.
(10C)Settle in the kiba-dachi position by lowering your arms outstretched in front of your bust, crossing your wrists (right above left).
(10D) Bring the elbows backwards against the flanks while closing your fists, which you bring above the hips, in a ryo goshi-kamae posture.

11. Hidari chudan uchi-ude-uke: Slightly reduce the right foot to the left foot, before advancing it 45 degrees to the left to find yourself in the zenkutsu-dachiposition, while you run an inner-outside left middle level(uchi-ude-uke).

12. Migi chudan oï-zuki: Advance your right foot in the zenkutsu-dachi position, while carrying an elongated frontal punch right middle level(oï-zuki).

13. Migi chudan uchi-ude-uke: Leaning on the left foot, slide the right foot to the right, rotate the body 45 degrees in the same direction to find yourself in the zenkutsu-dachi position, while you run an inner-outside block right middle level(uchi-ude-uke).

14. Hidari chudan oï-zuki: Advance the left foot in the zenkutsu-dachiposition, while carrying an elongated frontal punch left medium level(oï-zuki).

15. Morote jo-uke:

(15A) Slide your right foot towards the left foot, rotate your head 45 degrees to the left and arm your hands backwards, right side, opening them, palms to the ground.
(15B) Slide the right foot forward in front of the left foot, lowering the right hand into a spoon in front of you and raising the left elbow.
(15C)Settle in the kokutsu-dachiposition, raise your right hand at the waist, and the left hand at the forehead, to block a jo attack (stick)(morote jo-uke).

16. Jo-zukami: Pushing on the left foot, move the pelvis forward and move the center of gravity towards the right leg by sending the two fists down in front of you to make a stick grab(jo-zukami). The right fist is facing forward, backwards upwards, and the inside of the left fist rests against the abdomen, fist back to the ground.

17. Push on the right foot and pull the pelvis backwards by swivelling to the left to turn around without changing the position of the feet. The arms do not move, only the fists rotate internally on themselves.

18. Ryo goshi-kamae:

(18A) Advance and then shift your right foot to the right, extending your arms on the flanks and opening your hands.
(18B) Send hands along 2 upward circular trajectories while lowering the pelvis.
(18C) Settle in the kiba-dachi position by lowering your arms outstretched in front of your bust, crossing your wrists (right above left).
(18D) Bring the elbows backwards against the flanks while closing your fists, which you bring above the hips, in a ryo goshi-kamae posture.

19. Hidari jodan age-uke: Advance the left foot at a 45-degree angle to the left to move into the zenkutsu-dachi position. Simultaneously, run a left-level ascending block(jodan age-uke).

20. Migi chudan oï-zuki: Advance your right foot in the zenkutsu-dachi position, while carrying an elongated frontal punch right middle level(oï-zuki).

21. Migi jodan age-uke: Leaning on the left foot, slide the right foot towards it and rotate the pelvis 90 degrees to the right to find yourself in the zenkutsu-dachi position, while you run an ascending block right level high(jodan age-uke).

22. Hidari chudan oï-zuki: Advance your left foot in the zenkutsu-dachi position, while carrying an elongated frontal punch left medium level(oï-zuki).

23. Hidari chudan tettsui-uchi: Move the left foot 45 degrees to the left and align it with your right foot. Settle in the kiba-dachi position, while carrying a left-level left hammer punch(tettsui-uchi).

24. Mikazuki-geri: Without moving the right fist in hikity, throw the right foot along an upward circular trajectory in front of you, so as to execute a crescent moon kick against the left palm(mikazuki-geri).

25. Ryowan gedan kakiwake-uke:

(25A) Bring the right foot back to the level of the left knee and arm the left fist over the right shoulder, extending the right arm to the left in front of you.
(25B) Rest your right foot behind you in the kokutsu-dachiposition, while sending both fists to the sides to perform a double blocking separator descending(kakiwake-uke).

26. Morote haiwan-uke:

(26A) With a swept motion, send your fists backwards to give impetus to the mighty blockage to come.
(26B) With a dry, whipped motion, run an inner-outer blockage of the high-level left arm reverse(haiwan-uke)and reinforce this parade by raising the right arm synchronously in front of your forehead.

27. Morote haiwan-uke:

(27A) Advance your right foot and send your fists backwards, beyond your flank, so as to sweep the space in front of you.
(27B) Settle in the kokutsu-dachi position and perform an inside-outside blockage of the high level right backhand(haiwan-uke)and reinforce this parade by raising the left arm synchronously in front of your forehead.

28. Jodan juji-uke/Ryowan gedan kakiwake-uke:

(28A) Advance left foot, Cross the forearms at the wrists for a double cross-blocking level high(juji-uke)

(28B)Settle in the zenkutsu-dachiposition, while sending both fists to the sides to perform a double block separator descending(kakiwake-uke).

29. Ryowan uchi-ude-uke: Advance your right foot and cross your arms in front of your chest with your left arm above. Settle in the kokutsu-dachi position, performing a double inner-outdoor lock(ryowan uchi-ude-uke).

30. Morote kizami ura-zuki:

(30A) Push on the left foot and slide the right foot slightly forward, still in the kokutsu-dachi position, wearing a double head-down punch(kizami ura-zuki).
(30B) As soon as the blow is dealt, lower your elbows.

31. Hidari jodan age-uke: Turn your head to the left to look behind you, rotate the pelvis 180 degrees in the same direction, move the center of gravity towards the right leg to reverse your kokutsu-dachi position. Simultaneously, run a left-level ascending block(jodan age-uke).

32. Sankaku-tobi/Empi-uchi: Throw the right knee forward and leap upwards by leaning on the left leg. In doing so, pivot to the left to perform a triangle jump(sankaku-tobi). At the same time, give a right elbow against your left palm(empi-uchi).

KIA !!!

33. Migi jodan shuto-uke: Complete your 180-degree rotation to the left and fall back into the kokutsu-dachi position. In doing so, run a blockage of the edge of the right hand level high(shuto-uke).

34. Hidari jodan shuto-uke: Recoil the right foot in the kokutsu-dachi position while blocking the edge of the left hand level high(shuto-uke).

Yoi 16

Yame: Turn back the left foot before shifting it to the left to align it with the right foot in the heisoku-dachiposition. Bring your fists back to hip height.

Join your feet in the musubi-dachi position and salute.
